BSSG National Anthem Winner Announced!
The Big Sky State Games National Anthem
contest winner is 10-year-old Christina Eike of Moore, Montana. Eike
is a 4th grader at Moore Public Schools and has been singing since she could
speak. She plays the violin and piano and also enjoys basketball.
The contest was held throughout the
months of April and May, with performers posting their rendition of the
National Anthem on the Big Sky State Games Facebook page. A contest
selection committee narrowed the field to five finalists.
The winner was selected by a public vote that ran May 17th-21st on the Big
Sky State Games website and Facebook page. Over 1,400 votes were cast with
one vote per computer allowed.

The gates to
Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium, 3rd and Grand Ave., open at 5:30 p.m. in Billings. Activities include: athlete T-shirt pick up, sponsor booths,
souvenir sales, sports demonstrations, Fitness Walk, 5K start & finish, and concessions.
The Ceremony officially begins
at 7:30 p.m. with the Parade of Athletes, followed entertainment, drawing for a weekend at the Marina Cay Resort in Bigfork
and an additional drawing for 2 tickets provided by Horizon Air. The Montana
Mile (fastest milers in Montana), and traditional torch lighting by an Olympic Athlete.
Admission is $5 for adults and free to
children 6 and under. Athletes are admitted with their Opening Ceremonies
ticket mailed
prior to the Games.
